Green Design and Resource Recycling Promotion Project - Workplan

Absrtact
This project was implemented over the period from February 17, 2015 to December 31, 2015. The main work items were as follows: (1) Undertaking work relating to the promotion of the “cradle-to-cradle” (C2C) design philosophy, and assisting in the operation of related strategic alliances; (2) Providing guidance and organizing the “Product Challenge” and competition to encourage C2C product design and R&D; (3) Collaborating on project-related administrative tasks. This project involved the utilization of strategic alliances, knowledge platforms, project promotion and system formulation to realize coordinated implementation of C2C related work tasks. The work carried out in relation to strategic alliances included holding two discussion meetings, which provided an opportunity for joint discussion of the future vision for the development of the Taiwan Cradle to Cradle Strategic Alliance and for sharing innovative green design concepts. In addition, 200 copies of Strategic Alliance publications were distributed. The project’s knowledge platform website was updated and optimized; the platform design was improved in line with recent trends in the development of the Internet, and the information presented on the platform was carefully collated, so as to enhance the platform’s functionality and usability. Three “train the trainers” courses were held (in the current fiscal year, the trainers trained on these courses have given a total of 149 presentations to raise awareness of C2C design concepts), along with a two-day C2C promotion conference and the Product Challenge design competition. The aim of these activities was to promote the C2C design philosophy through a wide range of different channels. In addition, guidance was provided to three business enterprises to help them implement C2C product design and adopt a product lifecycle approach to the evaluation of environmental impact. Follow-up was also conducted to assess the improvements in product design achieved by companies that have received guidance in past years. A (revised) report was formulated on the planning for the establishment of a C2C Mark verification system in Taiwan, and an expert forum was held to discuss this issue. Assistance was also provided for the implementation of related administrative work, so as to enhance the overall effectiveness and quality of project implementation.
